Our Story
Lydia Rose was born into a world of music. Her dad, Joe, gigged throughout her entire childhood, and her family was filled with working musicians or people who simply loved to make noise. She grew up singing “Five Little Speckled Frogs” on stage with her dad’s band to packed bars — and from that moment on, she knew the stage was where she belonged.
Fourteen years later, after moving back home, Lydia went to see her dad and brother’s band, The Racoon Antlers. What started as a visit quickly turned into something bigger. It felt meant to be. Together, they formed a family band — Lydia Rose and the R.A. Boys. They played countless shows, building momentum and memories. Those were blissful, formative years.
As her brothers entered high school and momentum continued building, Lydia and her dad were preparing to take music full-time. Then COVID hit. The world shut down. Live music stopped. Dreams that once felt within reach suddenly felt impossible.
Looking back now, the timing was perfect — even if it didn’t feel like it then. Lydia wasn’t done growing. There were still dues to pay. Her brothers deserved a somewhat normal high school experience. So the band evolved again.
Lydia and Joe stripped things back to a duo, and 2 Towns Down was born — one of her most cherished projects to date. After a year of grinding as a duo, they became a trio when Kyle jumped on stage “just for fun” at a gig… and never left. (They still joke that Kyle knows at least one person everywhere they go — even hundreds of miles from home.)
There was also a “big band” season — six incredible musicians who helped shape and elevate Lydia’s original record, Everflow. (It’s taking for-ever to produce — but that’s what happens when the vision is big.)
Now, Lydia has returned to her roots: a tight duo/trio setup, with a drummer added when the stage calls for it. It keeps the music light, honest, and grounded — just the way she likes it.
Lydia Rose isn’t just a band name. It’s who she is. This is the condensed version of the road that’s brought her here — and with big ideas already on the horizon for 2026, the story is only just getting started.
